FAQ

Sprout & Soar is designed to complement formal kindergarten education while integrating aspects of Prep. Our program is hands on, full of colour and movement whilst building on skills which allow children to focus and concentrate for longer periods. Our program is designed to build foundational skills to give them the best start at Prep. It is important to remember each child learns and grows at their own pace, so our educators customise their methods to suit the individual abilities of each child. The positive feedback we consistently receive indicates that our young learners thoroughly enjoy the experience in our intimate educational setting.

Kindergarten is an incredibly important developmental part of preparing for school and all children should be encouraged to go. Sprout & Soar is designed to work in compliment kindergarten programs, enhancing your child’s skills in a smaller group environment.

While our teachers are ready to assist if your child has an accident, our primary focus remains on maintaining lessons and supervising all our young learners. Therefore, we kindly ask that you only enrol your child if they are fully toilet trained.

As this is a school readiness program where children are preparing to go to school the parents are not invited to stay. You may come and see the classroom at drop off but are asked to leave promptly and return at the end of class. Please let us know if you feel your child will require extra support with separation and we can make a plan with you.

Yes! NDIS funding may be used for both plan managed and self managed students. Please share your child’s reports with their teacher’s when enrolling and discuss your child’s goals. We will work together with you and their allied health professionals to ensure we are meeting their needs.

Our lessons and activities are tailored for children aged 3 to 6 years old. Within this age range, we carefully craft experiences based on the child’s age and developmental stage. This may involve differentiated activities or different groups based on stage. We wait to ensure that your young learner will engage with peers who are at a similar stage of growth and development.

Please bring a small bag for your child with the following: water bottle, lunch box, a spare change of clothes in case of any accidents.

We recommend that your child attends once a week. If we feel they need extra classes as school nears we will chat to you about this as some children do benefit from the repetition of two classes in a week.

Most of our groups are capped at 8 children. As the children become more independent we may increase our groups to 10 children however we like to keep our groups very small so we can cater for all of our students’ individual needs. Each class has a teacher and a teaching assistant.

One term is really not enough. We ideally like our students to complete the full academic year with us as the learning progresses each term. Some of our parents sent their oldest child to us for a term in the past but are now enrolling their second child at the age of three as they can see the benefit in completing the whole program.
